“Helping Hands Youth Volunteer Initiative”
Inspired by the mission statement of the StarMight Foundation to provide mentoring opportunities to help youth volunteers make a difference, Laura Corlin, founder of The Difference Music Makes, is introducing the “Helping Hands Youth Volunteer Initiative.” The “Helping Hands Youth Volunteer Initiative” encourages youth to make a difference in their own communities. These pre-pared service programs provide valuable, service learning experience while students bring "The Difference Music Makes" .into their own hospitals and communities. Children of ALL AGES are encouraged to participate! Adults are encouraged to participate as mentors and/or advisors.
To become a Helping Hands Youth Volunteer you may choose one of three options of participation:
1. With a contribution of $100, raised in your community, Helping Hands Youth Volunteers must purchase 10 The Difference Music Makes CD’s. The youth volunteers are required to then donate the 10 CD’s to children’s ward of their local hospital. We can recommend a number of community fundraising ideas, suitable for youth, to raise the $100.00 contribution needed to purchase the CD’s. After verification from the local hospital. The Difference Music Makes will present the Helping Hands Youth Volunteer or Youth Group with a letter of appreciation suitable for framing.
2. Helping Hands Youth Volunteers may choose to purchase the minimum 10 CD’s required to participate in the program and then sell the CD’s in their community. They may then use the $100.00 in CD sales to double their original contribution to The Difference Music Makes by purchasing a $100 GOLD Sponsorship for themselves or their youth group. In choosing this option the Helping Hands Youth Volunteer or Youth Group will received a Gold Sponsorship, A letter of Appreciation suitable for framing AND 5 additional CD’s of The Difference Music Makes to donate to a local hospital children’s ward or enjoy for themselves and their efforts to support The Difference Music Makes.
3. The third option available to Helping Hands Youth Volunteers or Youth Groups is to make a direct financial contribution of $200.00, or more, to The Difference Music Makes program. This financial contribution will be dedicated solely to the purchase of personal CD players for the patients to listen to their new music on. The Difference Music Makes will present the Helping Hands Youth Volunteer or Youth Group with a letter of appreciation wall plaque ready for display.
