The Award Winning Musical Community Service Project Created To Support the Musical Needs Of Young Hospital Patients Receiving Treatments For Life-Threatening Childhood Diseases
GOALS of the Project
To provide free compact discs of music, story-time and their “healing benefits” to young hospital patients living with life-threatening diseases AND to provide personal CD players for them to listen to the music on.
To provide a vehicle for other recording artists to contribute performance CD’s for young patients to listen to during their treatment periods.
To provide mentoring and education programming that provide both youth volunteer opportunities and action planning programs that they can use to bring this service program into their communities and hospital, thus enabling them to make a difference.
To raise funds for scientific research of life-threatening pediatric diseases through the TOTAL SALES of The Difference Music Makes CD series (not just the profits).

The Difference Music Makes has received the following awards:
Founded in 2002 by, then 15 year old New Hampshire resident, Laura Corlin, The Difference Music Makes has delivered over $32,500.00 in music CDs, personal CD players and financial contributions to the young patients at children's hospitals across the United States! Corlin has independently produced and recorded a series of music CDs which are donated to the children so they may enjoy music during their treatments and hospital stays while also receiving the healing benefits of music. The music series is a selection of favorites that are fun, soothing, inspirational and uplifting. Music for kids that EVERYONE will enjoy. This project also reaches out to the international arts community with a Call To Action for professional musicians to join in this effort by donating their CDs to this wonderful cause. The success of this program provides a greater variety and volume of music that is distributed to the children's wards. Corlin has expanded her program by producing Volumes Two & Three to follow up her first CD! This time Laura and 14 young recording artists have collaborated to bring a variety of music styles to The Difference Music Makes Album Series in Tru Colors and Tru Holidays. The CDs and money raised will be donated to children's Hospital across the country.
